About the Bell
Unclear on number of bells
The church was built in 1862 at the cost of £2500 and was paid for by A. D. Wagner. It served as a mission chapel and was noted as being temporary. It was designed by G. F. Bodley. It didn't possess a tower, but probably had a small bell hung between brackets.
The church closed down in 1948 and was eventually demolished in 1963.
Elphick lists:
BRIGHTON, St Mary Magdalen, Bread Street. Was demolished and trace of
bell lost.
Tyssen does not list anything in his book regarding this church. The closest is Brighton, St Mary but this is the wrong church.
