8 Bells, 19lbs 8oz in D
In memory of his grandparents, Ollie commissioned the ring in 2019. The bells were then collected from Matthew Higby in December 2021, and stored at Horsted Keynes before being hung in their initial home at Aylsham, Norfolk. The ring was called "The John of Gaunt Ring", named after the Lord of the manor at Aylsham, and former Duke of Lancaster. The parish church of Aylsham, St Michael's was built under his patronage too.
In October 2022, the bells were hung by Ollie & Michael Clements, and rung for the first time on 11/10/2022.
The bells were later removed, and transferred south to Horsted Keynes, where they were hung on August 21st 2024 by Ollie and Kye Leaver.
The work was completed 2 days later, and the first ring in their new location was rung on September 6th.
In the following months, amendments were carried out to improve the internal acoustics and go of the ring.
The front 4 bells were cast in a sand mould to the same model, though the back 4 were cast to separate models, getting slightly larger in size. They were designed to type B proportions, where the smaller bells are proportionally taller with smaller crowns.
The graphs below shows that bells 1-5,7 are the tallest, whereas bells 6 and 8 are the shortest.

They're tuned to the key of D, with minor third tierces, and some octave nominals. They're tuned to their hum partial, using Vallotti's temperament, and produce a very mellow tone.
The treble, 2nd, and tenor carry the names Molly, Peter, and Oliver respectively, all of which are engraved on the waist. Molly and Peter were Ollie's grandparents who sadly passed away in March 2019.
The bells are hung in a group of 4 pairs. (1&8; 2&3; 4&5; 6&7) The frame pairs consist of 8.1.E.b trusses, arranged in the 2.X1 layout. Like the headstocks, they are painted blue. Due to the supporting beams in the loft, bells 4&5 had to be hung above the rest.
