Peg canon / Argent
The Peg Argent or "Peg" is the simplest out of all the canon designs.
It is either: A single loop coming out the top of the bell. Alternatively, it can be a small rectangular block of metal with a hole through it.
The hole in the peg enables it to be bolted to either a wooden headstock or a metal one without the use of straps.
Peg argents are normally used on chiming bells. Either hung dead or swing. They can also be found of sanctus and clock bells.
In the middle of all canons is an argent that the canons are connected to. The argent is designed to take 4 times the amount of weight than the bell itself to be able to support the force from the bell when it is swinging.
