Rusper Priory
About the Bells
2 Bells, Formerly more
William de Braose was the patron when the foundation was confirmed c.1200 by Seffrid II, Bishop of Chichester. The priory was probably for twelve nuns under a prioress. The priory received income from the churches of Warnham, Ifield, and Selham, to which John de Braose added that of Horsham in or before 1231. 100
At the dissolution of 1536, Rusper Priory had 2 bells which were sold to Nicholas Gennyns for 20 shillings.
Although, not all the bells that were present weren't sold because there is mention of some being stollen. The total cost of all goods sold off was £27 11s 4d. 101
