About the Bell

1 Bell
Baldslow had a chapel made of iron and wood, built in 1863. No record of the bell's inscription was taken so it's a guess as to who cast it, probably John Warner & Sons.
It was closed in 1979 as most of the building had rusted away, and it would have been easier to tear it down rather than restore it.
It was apparently build by Habershon, though it is uncommon for an architect to be assigned to a building such as this.
Elphick states:
BALDSLOW, St. Peter.
A single bell c. 12" diameter, hung in a B frame, chimed by a lever. Two 25 rung ladders required. Could not be properly examined by binoculars in Sept. 1962.

A house has been erected in the same location it once stood.
