About the Bell

1 Bell
Brighton, All Saints had a single bell cast by Charles & George Mears in a stumpy, unfinished tower.
The church was designed in 1847 by R. C. Carpenter. As Carpenter was constructing Brighton, St Paul's for the Wagners, it was constructed under their patronage. Unlike most churches built by Wagners, this church was not built as a mission church for a slum but instead for a newly developed and reasonably well-maintained area.
A tower was built in 1852 but it was never completed.
The church was damaged during the war but it was still used for worship.
It was later demolished in 1957.
