John Taylor moved down to Buckland Brewer in Devon after marrying Amelia in 1825. Together they had 5 children.
In the same year, bells began appearing in Devon with his name only, although they still bear OXFORD.
He then moves back up to Oxford in 1835, and stays there until 1839. He must have gained a good reputation as bells were still being cast for Devon towers after 1835.
Leaving his brother William Taylor in charge of the Oxford foundry, he moved to Pack Horse Lane, Loughborough in 1839, though we don't see the name Loughborough appear on bells until 1841.

He used Joseph Eayre's block roman capitals at Oxford, and introduced a gothic set around 1844.
John passed away in 1858, and was buried at the general cemetery in Loughborough, leaving the foundry in the hands of his son John W. Taylor.
